Individual:
Judson grew up in the Aiken SC area. He joined the US Navy onOctober 2, 1946 and worked in the field of Aviation ElectronicsMaintenance. In 1958 Judson was commissioned Ensign, USN. Heserved in the Berlin Airlift, Korean Conflict, Lebanon Crisis,Cuban Crisis, and Vietnam. He was a member of Air Groups aboardsuch notable ships as the USS Entrepid, USS Saratoga, USSForestal, USS Roosevelt, and USS Coral Sea. In addition heserved in Anti-Submarine Patrol Squadron 45. His last duty wasas Contracting Officer at the Naval Engineering Service Unit inPhiladelphis, PA. While stationed at Moffett Field CA Judsonmet and married Dorothy Jean Dunnavant on 7 February 1952. Fromthis union, four children were born: Julie Ann Fulghum Jones,Paul Austin Fulghum, Laura Lynn Fulghum Adler Whitaker, andDouglas Andrew Fulghum. Judson retired from the Navy in 1969 asa Lieutenent Commander with 23 years of service and involvedhimself in a civilian career as a private consultant inManagement Information Systems. In the early 1980's Judsonbecame involved in Fulghum genealogy and in 1992 became theFulgham-Fulghum Family National Association Associate Historianand Archivist. Judson's work on the Fulgh*m family database hascorrected earlier mistakes and has extended greatly the familygenealogical and historical database. His work is critical inunderstanding the relationships of the many Fulgh*m lineages.Dorothy Jean died February 2, 1993 in Tulsa OK. Judson marriedMary Francis Henson Wann on June 29, 1996 and moved to ColumbiaSC where they established their residence. Judson was a memberof Union United Methodist Church, Irmo, SC and took an activerole in church governance including serving on its financecommittee, Living Christmas Story work team, usher, and "The Joyof Sunday School Class." Judson died on September 9, 1999 andwas laid to rest in Broken Arrow, OK. Fran Fulghum said ofJudson, " Judson was a role model for all of us who knew him,teaching us how to live and teaching us how to die. we grievefor his companionship but cherish him being with the Lord.
