Captured at age 7 by the indians during the revolutionary war and removed to Montreal and held until end of the war.
Uncle Philip Empie was with Conrad when he was captured by indians. Philip loosened his bonds enough to get his jackknife and free himself during the 1st night but Conrad was sleeping too soundly to free.

Migrated to Michigan where he showed up on the census and tax rolls in 1840
Lived and died in Livingston County Michigan, Surrounded by all of his children
except John Conrad who stayed in Chautauqua County, N.Y.
