Notes 
Individual:
Henry was put to work alone in the fields at the age of 8 years old and supplies were taken to him once a week. When his son Ray asked him to learn to speak German he refused due to the resentment he had with his father for feeling stupid when he started school; thus our German language was lost to us.
According to the 1900 census, Henry and Mary had a servant by the name Edith J S whom was born in October 1883 and was not married at that time.
