"This John Martin who emigrated to New Piscataway in New Jersy with a Hugh Dunn , Charles Gilman and Hopewell Hull. Many of the colonizers of Piscataway settled there in response to a document published in 1665 through the representative of the
king and nobles, Sir Philip Cateret, which was known as the Concessions and Agreements of the Lords-Propietors. Some of the concessions offered were in the form of land grants, religious liberty and freedom in secular affairs. "His military title was Ensign.
He may have been the constable for Piscataway, NJ in 1689, refrence 'Ye Olde Middlesex Courts by George J. Miller, Perth Amboy, NJ, 1923".
"Two of Hugh Dunn's children married Martin girls. Hugh Dunn Jr.married Elizabeth Martin and Samuel Dunn married Esther Martin. It is believed these were children of this John Martin.
