Elizabeth's father was Henry Burnett

Daughter Mary Newman.
Thomas Newman was b.ca.1656 and d.ca.1700 in Richmond Co. VA
Bridgette Newman d. in Richmond Co. VA ca.1705.
William Brockenbrough m. Mary Newman
Daughter Elizabeth Brockenbrough m. Thomas Dickson, Gent.
She was widowed and remarried Sir Marmaduke Beckwithca.1716.
Marmaduke Beckwith, 1687-1780, was Clerk of the RichmondCo. VA
Court for 71 years. He became a baronet in 1743. In 1780,after
his death, his son Jonathan succeeded him.
Baron - " a member of the lowest rank of British nobility "
Baronet - " a man holding the lowest British hereditarytitle "
In 1746 a William Brockenbrough was appointed Sheriff ofRichmond County, VA.

Thomas Stanfield m. Mary Dalton - Richmond Co. VA - ca.1722
Son was Marmaduke Stanfield b.ca.1724
With the marriage to Mary Dalton, the Stanfields were nowclosely
connected to the Beckwith, Miskell, Brockenbrough andNewman families.
All of which seemed to have some degree of respectabilityand wealth.
It is possible that Marmaduke Stanfield was named afterMarmaduke
Beckwith. He was a little older than Thomas Stanfield.Marmaduke
Stanfield and several of Marmaduke Beckwith's children wereoften
witnesses together on deeds and other court documents.
Mary Dalton Stanfield m. Jonathan Lyell - Richmond Co. VANov. 16, 1729.
Their children - Lidia b. 12/14/1730, John b. 02/12/1732,Leeannah b. 03/02/1736,
Jonathan b. 10/12/1737, Winifred b. 02/18/1738, Robert b.05/18/1739,
and Joseph b. 05/22/1742. All children born in Richmond Co.VA

By 1741, Marmaduke Stanfield was frequenting the RichmondCo. VA Court.
He is noted as witnessing many court documents. Next wediscover Marmaduke
acting in a similar capacity in Orange Co. VA Court(1744-45).
In 1746 he is back in Richmond Co. VA.
Early in 1746 he bought land 345 acres in Halifax Co. VA.
