L. N. COLLIER DIES IN ST. JOSEPH Prominent North Howard County Man Died at 12:30 Friday. L. N. Collier, on of the most prominent and highly respected citizens of the northern part of the county, died in the State hospital in St. Joseph, Mo., at 12:30 a.m. Friday, June 20th. He had been in ill health for the past nine weeks. For about six weeks had had received treatment in a hospital in Kansas and had been a patient in the St. Joseph hospital for only two weeks. Mr. Collier was sixty four years of age at the time of his passing. He was born in Burton Township in this county and for a great many years was a prominent farmer. Since his retirement eight or ten years ago he had resided in Armstrong. He is survived by his wife who was formerly Miss Ida Crowley, one son, Lewis Collier, of Carrolton, and two daughters, Mrs. James Herring and Mrs. Belle Beck, both of Pontiac, Mich. Deceased was a member of the Baptist Church and live a life characterized by honesty and charitableness. No one was more highly esteemed for his integrity and uprightness and his kindliness was proverbial. Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church at Armstrong Sunday afternoon at two-thirty conducted by the Rev. B. B. Bess assisted by Rev. J. M. Major and Rev. Mark Howard (this word not clear).
He was called 'Nep'.
