George Underwood's eldest son William had a son name Nimrod S. married to Nancy Frazier in Feb 1824.
George also had a son name Nimrod b c1780 married to Flora McCoy and had a daughter before 1800.
George's son John had a son named Nimrod, my gggrandfather born 11 Sep 1824 married to Elizabeth Nelson.
All these children were believed born in South Carolina with exception of couple in TN and North Carolina.
George himself, born ca1750-55 married 1772-73 in South Carolina to his cousin Sarah (Sally) Underwood.
Does this ring any bells? Be glad to correspond. thank you for your response.

This may take me awhile!
I have a ggg-grandfather Nimrod Terrell Underwood b. Mar. 30, 1820 in SC and his brother
Andrew Jackson Underwood b. 1815 SC
The book Underwood Families of America has them listed and the children of George or Nimrod and Flora McCoy.
The Hammett family book does list George (D.1840) and Sarah's son Nimrod as being married to Flory __.
I have not been able to confirm the parents of my Nimrod. I have found through books and online the other Nimrod's you have mentioned all coming from this family, so my logical mind said my Nimrod has to fit into this family somewhere.
The Underwood book also said the father of my Nimrod was in the war of 1812 and had an eye shot out, and he lived around Greenville.
George and Nimrod were both on Greenville census until 1840 when George died, Nimrod was gone before the 1850 census. The 2 brothers mentioned above were living in AL in 1850, Nimrod in Franklin Co., Andrew in Greene Co.
So, what do you think? Do you have any information that could help me?
Rebecca

Your Nimrod Terrill Underwood is indeed in my family. They will be 1st cousins to my gggrandfather Nimrod Underwood who settled in Baldwin County. I do have a family record on Nimrod Terrill and am in process of making copies for someone who just contacted me about Elijah, also in the same family line.
If you will send a land address or e-mail, I will be glad to exchange info. I do appreciate documentation and I will send same with my information for corrections and/or additions.
I work in a Public Library with my primary responsibility Alabama and Genealogy Collections so am supersensitive to documenting with helping so many patrons.
Thanks for the response. Look forward to hearing from you.
