In his will, which was proved on April 11, 1698, he named his sons butdid not mention his wife. She was probably deceased at that time.
He came to New England at an early date. His name appeared on thefirst list of proprietors of Waterton, MA. He had a homestead lot ofsixteen acres in 1642-43 and subsequently bought other lots until hehad 175 acres in all. In 1678, he served as a selectman of Watertown,holding this office frequently until 1691. He was admitted a freemanon April 18, 1690.
