Note: According to Maude Hammer, Chauncy's name was pronounced as,"Chancy".

Chauncy contracted Tuberculosis and during the course of hisillness he moved from Logansport, Cass County, Indiana, back tohis grandparent's home in Kokomo, Howard County, Indiana. Helived in a tent outside this home to prevent others from beinginfected. Died from tuberculosis. and buried in ClimersCemetery, Waupecong, Miami, Indiana.

Some sources list his death in 1923, but it was REALLY February17, 1922 not 1923. His obituary was featured in the KokomoDispatch - Dec 31, 1922 p 9, 10 & 16. Extracted byKokomo-Howard County Library Genealogy Dep't staff.

Chauncy lived for: 31 years, 4 months and 10 days and his son,Robert was only 6 years old when he passed away.
