A message to all who may be interested in the lines represented in my family tree:
This tree contains 40,504 people, most of whom are linked either through blood or marriage to one another. Fewer than 18,000 of these people are actually blood relatives of mine, but most of the rest are related to me through marriage.
I have done my best to ensure that the information provided here on each and every person is as accurate as my time and resources have allowed. As for my sources, they are from all over the place. Sometimes they are noted, sometimes not...I've gotten much better in the last few years about keeping notes on sources, but unfortunately when I first started out, I wasn't always so great about that.
Much of the information about these people comes from family members who had either kept records or done research long before I had.
As you peruse my tree, you will also find some people with multiple birth and death dates as over the years I have also run into conflicting data for various individuals. In order to clean this up, one of the things I have been trying to do of late is to go back to original records to try to confirm my lineage accounts that I've acquired from various sources over the years. As I do that, I add notes and data and eliminate faulty and contradictory information as go along. In the meantime, I continue to post the lines as I know them because it is a good way to get feedback from others who have additional information.
I consider this a living document that may have mistaken assumptions and; I welcome any information that either verifies or contradicts that which I have posted. I try to regularly return to update based on this information.
I love genealogy because it provides a personal way for me to explore history. It has been great fun for me to learn about all of my relatives from the past. Some of them were famous, some were powerful and some were just ordinary men and women living their lives and building for a future that I currently enjoy.
