OBITUARY: South Bend Tribune: Funeral services for George Irvin Beard, 68, of Warsaw, Ind., formerly of South Bend, who died Saturday night in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Orvis Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Beard was born on June 30, 1897, in Rossville, Ind. He was an employee of the Gast Construction Co., Warsaw. Mr. Beard had lived in Warsaw the last 25 years, moving there from South Bend. On Nov. 5, 1916, in Saskatchewan, he married the former Bernice Griffith, who preceded him in death. His survivors include three sons, Miles G. of Mishawaka; Max I. of Monterey, Mexico, and Bruce W. of Lakeville. Friends may call at the Orvis Funeral Home today, then at the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Tuesday afternoon and evening. The body will then be returned to South Bend for the services at Orvis Chapel.
