Unable to discover where John was born. According to his age at death he was born about 1782
, and according to the 1841 census he was born in Derbyshire. There is no baptism record in West Hallam, or any trace of any Bloors living there, prior to John and Elizabeth's marriage. The nearest concentration of Bloors to West Hallam is in Dale Abbey, but a search of the parish registers there drew a blank. There do appear to have been a few Bloors in Ilkeston so it may be worth looking there.
Witnesses to the marriage were William Bloor (probably a relative) and Elizabeth Eviens (wh o was she?).
