Text:
Was a Private in the 1st Battalion, Lancaster County Militia, under Captain Samuel Henry Vol. VII, Penn. Arch., V Series, pp 71 and 91. Had immigrated to America (from Germany) in 1749 with father. George was a lawyer and an innkeeper and was prominent in the community. He lived in Strasburg, PA and acquired land in Lancaster and Clinton counties. Most of his children moved to Clinton county, where they were some of the earliest settlers in the areas of Mill Hall and Salona.
