From Spartanburg, SC Herald Journal, October, 1963:
Mrs. Pearl Adair Harris, 67, of 419 Converse Street died October 24, 1963 at home of a daughter, Mrs. E. H. Sanders of 204 Broadview Drive, at 4:20 P.M. after a long illness. Mrs. Harris was a native of Spartanburg County and a daughter of the late D. C. and Hester Tindall Adair. She was a retired seamstress for Elird's Department Store and Carolina Cash Stores and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Sanders are: four other daughters, Mrs W. C. Hyatt of Roebuck, Mrs John Franklin of Cross Anchor, Mrs H. T. Thackston of Montclair, NJ and Mrs. R. W. Smith of Greenwood; four sons, H. W. and James B. of Spartanburg; Harold D. of Harwinton, CT and Joel E. Harris of Campbellsville, KY; one sister, Mrs Wallace O'Shields of Pauline; one brother, Boyce Adair of Pauline; and 20 grandchildren. J. F. Floyd Mortuary is in charge.
