Individual:
(From Steven Walter Adair - Enlisted as private 23rd Mississippi Rifles (Commanded by Colonel Joseph M. Wells). Six months later died of pneumonia or measles in Kentucky (he returned to duty too soon) .
Memorial in Mt Zion Cemetery, Union county Mississippi:
BAZELL ADAIR, private--- Company E 23rd. Regiment Mississippi Infantry,
Enlisted 24 Aug. 1861 at Baldwyn, Ms. He died 26 Oct. 1861 at
Hopkinsville, Ky. as prisoner of war (Union Army). Died with Measles.Emigration: 1818, Perry Co., TN to IL. Military service: Bet. August 24 - October 26, 1861, Hopkinsville, Ky. as prisoner of war (Union Army).
