Funeral services for Mrs Vennie Garrett Arthur, 49, of Route 1, who died Friday night at General Hospital after a long illness of several weeks, will be held today at 4 P.M. at Cannon Campground Methodist Church. The Rev. Ralph Kaney will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Arthur was a native of Cannon Campground community and a member of Cannon Campground Methodist Church; and Eastern Star, Ora Chapter.
Surviving are: her husband, Vernon K. Arthur; one daughter, Miss Ann Arthur of Route 1,; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Stephens, Mrs Ruth Hammett, Margaret Mathis and Mrs Opal Keller, all of Route 1; one brother, John L. Garrett of Route 1. The body is at the M. W. Bobo Funeral Chapel and will be taken to the church today at 2:30 P.M. Nephews will be pallbearers.
