Individual:
Thomas King Singleton obit reads as follows: 21 Oct 1974 age 97, died in Kalispell Monday morning. He was born Sept. 15, 1877, in Strawn Co., Texas, a son of John M. and Georgia Mae Singleton.
When he was 4 years of age, he moved with his family to Bentonville, Ark., where he received his education and spent his early years. In 1901, he moved to Montana where he was employed as a cowboy.
In 1916, he was married to Emma Bruffey at Livingston. The couple then homesteaded near Ferdig, until 1919, when they moved to the Flathead Valley.
Mr. Singleton was Preceded in death by his wife, Emma, in 1926, and in 1929 he married Margaret Meeds at Dillon. She preceded him in death in 1947. Mr. Singleton had been a cowboy and a logger most of his life until his retirement.
He is now survived by two sons, George Singleton of Kalispell and Kenneth Singleton of Graham, Washington; three daughters, Isabelle Everett and Dorothy Sundt both of Kalispell and Ione Dawson of Graham Washington; four stepsons, David Meeds of Monroe, Washington, Henry Meeds of Logan, Utah, Oliver Meeds of Dillon and Lee Meeds of Great Falls; one stepdaughter, Mamie Bays of Dillon; 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Singleton will be in the Johnson Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. John Lewis, pastor of the Epworth United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The family suggest memorials be made to the Kalispell Soroptist Club or to the charity of choice.
