Interview with Louise Musser, 1987:
Raymond was called to the ministry when he was 15 years old. He described his decision this way: In his bed at the top of the stairs he saw something written on the wall in fire. It said "Raymond Musser, why can't you?" He shared this memory with me, and no one else. He thought it would be embarrassing to tell it to anyone else.
Raymond was a stammerer. He was sent to Indianapolis, IN to "stammering school"-The Bogue Schoo0l for Stammering, N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN, founded in 1901. In high school he did no verbal recitation.

Miss McDaniel Weds Reverend Musser at Church Ceremony
The marriage of Miss Harriette Louise McDaniel to Rev. Raymond Eugene Musser, of Roanoke and Newport, Virginia, took place at high noon yesterday at St. Paul's Methodist church. Rev. Felton Williams, paster of the church, officiated at the ceremony in the presence of friends and relatives.
Entering first were the ushers, Enzie M Childrey and Carl Spragging. Next to enter were the bridesmaids, Miss Annie Robertson and Miss Willa Beckham, with the groomsmen, who were J. Pratt Hubbard and Moorman Parker of Emory, Virginia. Miss Ima McDaniel asted as her sister's mail of honor.
The lovely bride entered with her mother, Mrs. John E. McDaniel, by whom she was given in marriage, and was met at the altar by the bridegroom and his best man, Henry A. Rickey, of New Haven, Conn.
Immediately following the ceremony Rev. Musser and his bride left for an extented wedding journey. The young couple will make their home in Roanoke, Virginia.
