What is the Global Tree project?
The Global Tree is an ambitious project to build a searchable database of genealogical data. Our project is different from other "world" tree type web sites because we allow you to interact with your data and with other genealogists in new ways. Here's what makes us unique:
  • Genealogists will be able to post messages on your file and on individuals in your file. The integrity of your data will not be compromised in any way and you can delete these messages at any time. By doing this, you can have others immediately interacting with you.
  • We will analyze your genealogy to help you find other genealogists to work with, through our Matching technology.
Why should I contribute my data?
The Global Tree is the cornerstone to helping genealogists find their families. Contributing your data not only helps you find your ancestors, but you help thousands of others as well. After uploading your data, you will see how easily our web site allows you to interact with other genealogists searching for the same ancestors. You can change your mind anytime and delete your file.

What about the protection of my data and privacy?
We know that the future of our project rests on respecting your hard work. With this in mind, we created the GenCircles Promise. Our promise states that we will never claim to own your genealogy or burn it onto CD to sell. In addition to this, we have a clearly stated Privacy Policy that keeps your personal information secure. If at any time, you'd like to remove your file from our servers, it is a simple "no questions asked" click of the mouse.
