I am looking for the birth record for my grandfather, Louis Schwartz, born in Luxembourg, 29 Feb 1868. Parents names were Matthew & Susan. He sailed for the USA as an infant with his parents. He is in the NY census for 1870 living with the Henry Hirt family. I don't know what happen to the parents or how he was related to the Hirts. Any suggestions where to start looking for birth records?
