Good afternoon, I am currently looking for the more information on the following family. I am looking for any living family members who has been trying to research the family as well as I. I am going to start with my husband's gggrand father.
John Donahue married Ellen Kane Both lived in the Louisville area. They came from Ireland and got married at the Cathedral of Assumption here in Louisville. Ellen was said to be about 16 years old when she and John came to the states. It is belived that John and Ellen came to the states from Dublin, and it is very possible that they left due to the famine in 1845 After their marriage, they had 10 children. Their names are: Patrick, Bridget, Mary, Jim or (James), Jack, Nell, Martin, Thomas, Timothy, and Maggie or (Margaret)
Now the information on this part of the family gets a bit shady, I know that Jack and Mary both had ended up in Indianpolis Indiana. Mary had been married twice, it is believed that her last marriage was to a Blackmore. This marriage brought children but it is unknown as to how many. I do know that one Daughter was Evelyn Blackmore and she had married a Preston. It is believed that Mary, (Mary's Daughter) Evelyn and Jack all were Buried in Indianpolis Indiana. It is Possible that Evelyn is still alive, but according to my husbands grandmother, it is unlikely. Evelyn did have children and grand children and these are the people I am looking for today. I am hoping that they will have information on this family and can tell me more about Mary and Jack. Perhaps Information on John and Ellen as well. Thomas Donahue (another sibling) Married Laura Sharlotte Davis. Thomas was born July 31, 1880 and Died November 30, 1931 of a stomach himerage. Laura was born ten years sooner on March 28,1870 and died May 31,1948 He was 54 and she was 78. It is believed that by the time Thomas died in 1931 that Patrick, Nell, Martin, Briget, and Timothy were already gone as well. According to the Obit for Thomas he left behind his wife, Two Brother's John and James and Two Sister's Mary and Maggie. Thomas and Laura had one son Louis Thomas Donahue Sr. from what I have heard through talking to my husbands grandmother, L.T. Sr. may have had a brother or sister, but they had died shortly after birth. From L.T.Sr. come L.T.Jr. and then My husband Gary Thomas Donahue who is still carring the name Thomas on. If anyone can help me find any extra information on this family, it would be greatly appreciated. I do appolgize that this was so long of a post, but I believe in getting as much information out there in hopes of getting more back. Thanks in advance Christine Donahue picnuttus@excite.com
