My name is Nancy Kraus-Howard My grandmother's maiden name was Elma Poikonen. My Great-grandparents were Johan Poikonen and Eva Johanna Hankonen from the area around Saarjarvaii. They left the area about February 1905. My Great-grandmother was an illegitimate child. A sister, Hilda (Hulda)either Poikonen or Hankonen came to the United States about the same time but returned to Finland about 1912 or a few years later. Any information you could furnish me would be appreciated by my entire family.
