I am researching my family name: Freelund. I have found several versions of the spelling. My Grandfather, John Eric Freelund born 1879, came from Munsala, Finland to America in 1899. My Grandmother, Minnie (Mina) Newman (Nojman, Neuman) was born Sept. 28, 1879, came to America from Munsala, Finland in 1900.
John Eric and Minnie were married in San Francisco and had a son, Arvid John born in Sept. 9, 1903 in San Francisco. They moved to Olympia, WA area, where 4 more children were born: Eric "Pete" Rudolph, b. 1907; Katrina Elivira, b. 1912; Walter C., b. April 22, 1914; Arthur George, b. Oct. 7, 1926 (my father).
Minnie had a brother, Ed who also lived in Olympia, WA. Also a sister (whose first name my father cannot remember). She was married to an Anderson (maybe George or Ed) This sister had 2 daughters: Helen and Helma. They moved to New York where Helen had a son, Steve, who worked for UPS.
I would appreciate any information on either Freelund or Newman names.
