I have info passed to me from my grandmother that says our ancestor was born in Wales. How do I find out where, county, town, etc., without any other leads to go on? He was John Wesley WATKINS b 1812. I've no idea of his parents or lineage, or exactly when he emigrated to USA, he was married to Lydia Jane Irons in 1852,not sure where, probably Illinois, USA. He was a methodist minister according to the pages I have.
