My name is Alan Imberman and from what I have learned, the Imberman name has been traced back to Vienna. Also, the person who has written the Israeli national anthem has a last name of Imber which was shortened from Imberman.
My grandparents migrated from Horadanka(Doradanka, today), Poland in the early 1900's. My grandfather was Julius Imberman. He married Anna Schiffris, who I am named after. They lived on the lower east side of Manhattan and owned a fruit and vegetable business. They started off with push carts and then wound up in the Delancey Street Market. They had 4 children - Aida Imberman, Pearl (Miriam)Imberman, Nathan Imberman and Seymour Imberman (my dad).
Maybe there is a connection somewhere down the line. It would be very nice to contact some long lost relatives.
