Here is what I know...My Father in law's name is Stephen Pichurko Jr. born in 1948 in Oklahoma to Stephen Pichurko Sr. and Anna Lavina Johnsen. Stephen Pichurko Sr. was born Jan 8,1922 in New York and died Dec 1972 in Oklahoma. He was in the Navy in WWII as a seaman first class discharged in 1946. He had many stations during his service time. Including NRS, N.Y., N.Y.; NTS, Great Lakes, ILL; NAS, Clinton, OK; NAS, Alameda, CA; CASU#6; USS Belleau Wood; Com Sea fron NOB, San Pedro, CA; RS, Treasure Island, CA; RS, Brooklyn, NY; NYD Annex, Tompkinsville, N.Y.; PSC, LIDO Beach, LI, NY. I know his parents to be William Pichurko and Catharine Pichurko (don't know maiden name) both lived on Staten Island. William Pichurko owned a restaurant/bar at 3066 Richmond Terrace Mariner's Harbor, S.I. NY.
I have seen a couple of census records that indicate William and Catharine Pichurko to have come from Galicia, Poland or possible Galizen, Austria. Family information puts them as coming from Russia. I have also seen on the census info that they (Wm. and Catharine) possibly became citizens between 1904 and 1906. I have their DOB's to be between 1896 and 1898.

Now what I am looking for is for some information about William and Catharine, and their parents back in the country(ies) of origin. If anyone has any info at all please contact me directly.
