My Grandfather's name was Ernest Maxime Berichon born in Mahebourg Mauritius on 22nd July 1889. He arrived in Australia in the early 1900's and finally settled in Innisfail Queensland. When he arrived in Australia he changed his name from Berichon to McBerichon. He died in Innisfail in 1962.
We have like a Family Tree written in french which we have been unable to translate without a Old French Dictionary.A French woman living here tried, but she told me that it seems to be written by the oldest in every family and handed down. She also said that part of our family had gone to Canada during the French Revolution. If and when we are able to get an old french dictionary or someone to translate it we'll be able to unlock our history.
