Hi Crystal ! I send you this message because your usual address didn't work. It's a long time I didn't write ... I've been very busy. But I had a look to several archives books and found nothing about Simon. I think I've followed all the reasonable paths of researches. I'm sorry I didn't find anything ! It's difficult for me to admit that there remain no trace of the passage of a person in a city ... but that's it. A lot of archives disapeared during the war or because of the temporary aspect of certain institutions (like orphanages precisely). The passage of Simon is a little bit to far from us to find witnesses, unfortunately. It's interesting to observe that Armenian immigration in Marseille never stopped. I teach (French) every afternoon to a class of foreigners, four or five of them (on around 20) are Armenians coming from Armenia. Of course this also comes from the fact that Marseille is a harbour but as far as I look in Marseille's History, I can see that the ones who arrived at the end of the 19th century welcomed the ones who arrived after the genocide and these ones welcomed the next ones and so on until today. I wish you good luck in your reseraches and more generaly in your life ! Best regards, Catherine CHAHNAZARIAN cath.chah@wanadoo.fr
