The WV Division of Culture and History has many birth, death and marriage records available free online at the above link. They have most death certificates from most counties spanning 1917-1955 and birth and marriage records from a few counties. Apparently, this is an ongoing project and more records are being added.

They also have lots of other historical information. A truly great online resource.
