Many Janesville people were grieved to learn of the death of Edward P. Ryan, which occurred at his home, 538 South Main street, last Saturday evening at half past seven, after an illness lasting for some weeks. Mr. Ryan was born in Janesville in December, 1880, and has lived in this city during his whole life. He made friends easily and was welcome in many Janesville homes, because of his sunny disposition and perpetually cheerful nature. His death will be a great shock to all who know him, and to the many people who remember his kindly generosity.
Mr. Ryan was a member of the undertaking firm of D. Ryan and sons. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, a member of Carroll Assembly No. 596. This organization will have charge of the funeral services.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ryan of this city, and by two brothers, James H. Ryan and D. Frank Ryan, and by two sisters, Mrs. Harry Qualman of Beloit, and Miss Norma Ryan of this city.
The funeral services will be conducted from the home on Tuesday morning at half past eight, and at nine o'clock from St. Patrick's church. Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.
