Israel Clifford's Will
In the Name of God Amen. I Israel Clifford of Corinth in Orange County & State of Vermont, being weak in body but of sound and [1 word illegible] mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following that is to say [2 words illegible], I give to my beloved wife Judith Clifford the use & benefit rents & proffits of all my Real estate to manage and improve in the way she shall think proper, so long as she remains my widow, at the expiration of which time I Will & order that my said Real estate shall be divided between my children - viz Isaac Clifford, Moses Clifford, John Clifford, Samuel Clifford, Betsey Thorn, Mary Nutting and Delia Swett, to be divided in such manner that my sons shall have equal shares and my daughters have equal shares, and that each son shall have [1 word illegible] to each daughter. - Item I give to my beloved wife Judith Clifford all my personal property of what kind [3 words illegible] after my just debts are paid. Lastly I hereby appoint Stephen Eaton sole Excuitor of this my last Will & Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness thereof I do herewith set my hand & Seal this 2nd day of November AD 1821. The words "improved" "Each" and "kind" interlined before signing.
