Susan Fisher and I are 4th cousins who shar a common ancestor in the person of this woman and her unkwon husband. They had 5 children: Susan is descended from son Tandy Rhodes and I am from son Albert Dink Rhodes. All children's histories and subsequent genealogies are established but Emily (born about 1820)- and her husband, if any -is absent from all records we have searched. Legend is there was some scandal surrouding the children's births, perhaps so much so that they are illegitimate, thus creating this mystery. One rumor is she was kicked out of Bedford County (or left) after either her husband died or went to prison. Another is that her lover was a TJ ancestor, working at one of the nearby Jefferson family mansions. Anybody have any clues? The family resided in Fluvanna County near Kidds Store and Shores, VA.
