I would like to share information with anyone who is researching Pechegru Woolfolk (aka Peach) (born about 1853) and his descendants. His wife's name was Martha. Her maiden name was either Johnson or Chapman. Their last slave owner was Rachel Ferris (probably Farish).
His wife's mother name was Agnes (Aggie) Chapman. She died on 02/14/1883. I believe her husband's name was George Chapman. They also had a son named George who died on 03/21/1880. His wife's name was Lavinia. They may have had a daughter who married someone with the surname Morton and had daughters: Aggie Morton & Betsy Morton.
Pechegru & Martha Woolfolk's children’s names were: William , Judith Ann/Judy, Pearl/Pearly W., Jesse and Mary.
Their daughter Mary has a son named Emmitt Woolfolk who later moved to Washington, DC. He changed the spelling of his last name to Woodfork. Mary Woolfolk married Samuel Houston around 1904. She moved to Washington, DC where she died around 1932. She did not have anymore children.
Their daughter Pearl married Allen Woolfolk on Jan. 5, 1895. Allen's mother's name was Isabella Johnson. They children were: Clara, Maud, Clem, & Erby/Irby. Allen remarried around 1907. I am not sure if Pearl died or they divorced. Some of their children moved to Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD.
I know there are many Pitchegru Woolfolk's. The one I am interested in was Black.
