I am searching for information about my ggrandmother... Bettie Matthews from Port Royal.
Mother - Susan, Sister Eliza B. Matthews. They were listed in the 1870 census in Port Royal.

We are African American. Bettie was mulatto and was believed to be the daughter of her master.
