Trying to find real name for Patsy Marcum. I think she was daughter of Sarah Manerva Marcum who was also born in Bedford abt 1830. Both were in Russell County Va by mid 1840's when they are living in the household of Zachariah Fugate. Some records indicate Sarah married Zachariah but she is shown on censuses as his housekeeper. Patsy and her "out-of wedlock" children also are in the Fugate household in the 1850's and the children are still there in the 60's tho' Patsy is not. Her children are thought to have been the birthchildren of my gggrandfather, William Hanshaw Palmer of Tn & Va.

Need to know Patsy's true identify and who her parents were. I've been told that Patsy later married a Dorton in Russell Co. Va but have also been told she never married. Also need her death date. bkrywulak@hotmail.com
