I would like to know more about what public and private schools were open in Mexia in 1916/1917. My grandfather, W. T. Adams, moved to Mexia for a short time and, I think, may have taught there during this time. I would like to know if there are any records/yearbooks/newspaper articles about him and/or the schools during this time. He had been superintendent of the Tyler public school system for 11 years before going to Mexia, but did not stay in Mexia since he passed the bar and moved to Houstion.
