I am trying to find information on Matthew Bills, son of Thomas and Mary Collins Bills. The family moved to Marshall County, TN when he was young. He married Ester E King in 1851. We believe he joined the war shortly thereafter, but we have no proof. To this union was born William Newton Bills, my grandfather. Matthew seemed to have vanished from the earth. Ester lived with my grandparents, but I do not know for how long. This is the only missing link back to William Bill who came to Barnstable, MA in the 1620's on the "Griffin".
