I am looking for information on my ggrandparents Jacob and Ellen (Smith) Collins. Jacob was born in Wythe Co. VA and migrated into TN around 1870.
He and Ellen homesteaded in Washington Co.from about 1870 to 1890 when they moved in the Pyburn community.They remained there until Jacob's death in 1916.
Jacob had two brothers-English and 'Elleck'-(possibly slang for Alexander)and an uncle named Ballard Collins who all lived within the same area.
I do not have a clue to Jacob's parents names. They were not even named on his death certificate.
