I'm trying to find information on my ancestor, HIRAM HOWE. He was born 12 May 1798 in probably York Co., SC. I believe he connects to JOSEPH HOWE of York Co. HIRAM HOWE was named in the will of his grandfather, ALEXANDER EAKIN(S) who died in 1805.
I've been told that HIRAM may be a son of ROBERT HOWE and MARY WATSON. She md: John EAKIN(S) after ROBERT'S death. However, the dates don't seem to work for ROBERT HOWE to be the father, since ROBERT died in 1781 at the Battle of Kings Mountain. MARY WATSON HOWE md: JOHN EAKIN(S) 1781-1784. HIRAM'S birth was recorded in a family Bible, so it couldn't have been that much earlier, in order to be ROBERT'S son.
