Hi all,

My father's family is from Horry and surrounding Counties of SC. My paternal great,great-grandfather's name was George Bellamy and His wife's ame was Laura (maiden name is said to be Hughes)Bellamy. Their children's names are
Laura, Melvina or Melvana, Roserita, Wren, Fanny, Carrie and George. My grandfather's name is Jessie his mother is Melvina.

At this moment of particular interest is the following: Appreciated info of Boson Dewitt, His wife's name was Bridie Mae (maiden name McCrae) Their oldest daughter was my father's mother, Lethia. Their other children, Roscoe (his given name is Officer/Offey? Dewitt-namesake of his grandfather; Officer Dewitt is said to be related to Andersons of the same area) Clem, Jessie, Ivy, Grace and Nancy. On the 1920 census, Boson's brother Alvie/Alva Dewitt and Wife Delta Booth Dewitt and children are listed. I'm also related to Barnhill, Parker, Pierce lines to name a few.

Researching the Dewitts, I have been working to get more information on them of at least the 1900 or 1910 census or county records before.

I have recently learned that Boson had another brother named William Dewitt married to Frances McCrae. Boson Dewitt and William Dewitt married sisters Bridie Mae, and Frances McCrae, respectively. Boson Dewitt was also said to have been a minister. He and his wife owned a store.

The church attended by the Dewitts was St. Paul and Oak Grove Baptist Church, and one of the funeral services used by this family was provided by McKieve (spelling?) Funeral Home.
