My 4GGF John LAY was born before 1755 in PA, first married Eva Margaret HENRY (my 4GGM), had 5 sons and 3 daughters in 1800 (at least 2 more sons and 1 daughter were born after 1800), and died c1820 in Toboyne Tp, Perry Co PA. His second wife, Hannah HENRY, was born 24 Sep 1771 Franconia Tp, Montgomery Co PA (now Philadelphia Co) (were his two HENRY wives sisters?). His oldest child, a male, was born between 1774 and 1784. A daughter, Catharine LAY, 1792-1876, and her husband, Christian HENRY (1790-1871) were both born in Bucks Co PA. Another son, my 3GGF, John LAY, b bet 1790-1794, had a Sheriff's Deed issued on his Mifflin Tp, Cumberland Co, land in 1825.

Wm HENRY m. Sophia -- and is listed in the 1800 Census, Tyrone Tp, Cumberland Co (became Perry Co in 1820). They possibly had children: Eva Margaret HENRY b bef 1755 who m. John LAY (my 4GGP), and Nicholas HENRY m. -- MITCHELL? and lived in Mifflin Tp, Cumberland Co PA.

Nicholas' son allegedly was John HENRY Sr (1759 Cresam Tp, Philadelphia Co PA-1841 OH) who was a Revolutionary War soldier (1776-1778) in the Battles of Trenton and Princeton, returned to reside in Rockville, Bucks Co PA after the war, was the first person to build a log house in Henry's Valley in Perry Co PA, and then changed his name to McHENRY and moved to Marlborough Tp, Stark Co OH, sometime after 1828. At the time of his enlishment he was living in Smithfield Tp, Bucks Co PA (Rev War Pension Claim S.2285).

ohn HENRY Sr m. 9 Mar 1779 Eva Margaret ZANGMEISTER (1759-1848) (Possible parents: John Henry and Anna Margaret Zangmeister) and had the following known children:
1. Elizabeth HENRY (b. 1 Dec 1779 Indian Field Luth Ch record, Franconia Tp, Montgomery Co PA; Bp 19 Dec 1779 Sponsors: Peter & Elizabeth Swager)
2. John HENRY, Jr.
3. Christian (Christy) HENRY (1790 Bucks Co PA-1871) m. Catharine LAY (or ROATH) 1792 Bucks
Co PA-1876). Christian HENRY and Catharine LEA are listed in the Brick Lutheran Church Records,
Frankford Tp, Cumberland Co PA. Both are buried in the Pioneer Cem in Henry's Valley where he was an Elder in the church there.
4. Anna Maria (Mary) HENRY (b. 1798 Perry Co PA) m. Henry LAY (1801-1866).
5. Eva Margaret HENRY (b. 1803).

The LAY family intermarried with the HENRY family and lived near each other in Henry's (Diehl's or Sheaffer's) Valley, Perry Co, just over the mountain north of Mifflin Tp, Cumberland Co.
