Kendall Saxman Paul, 96, of Selma, died Monday (July 1, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

He was born May 6, 1906, in Parlin, N.J. He attended Princeton University for two years. On Nov. 25, 1933, in Garwood, N.J., he married Ruth E. Kapke, who died in 1996. They lived in Southern California from 1935 until 1988, when they moved to Selma.
Mr. Paul worked for Convair in San Diego, Electolab in Encinitas, Calif., and as a real estate agent in North San Diego County, Calif.
He served as a Merchant Marine as well as two tours of duty in the U.S. Navy as a pilot from 1927 to 1933 and from 1942 to 1947, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander.
Mr. Paul attended Calvary Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed reading, walking, traveling and woodworking.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Anderson, Medford and Robin Gallagher, Chapel Hill, N.C.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
