The funeral service for Lawrence P. Crocker will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery.
Mr. Crocker, 96, of Medford, died Friday (June 28, 2002) at his home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1905, in Alta Loma, Texas. In 1929, he married Mary Turnbow, who preceded him in death. In 1940, he married Jewell Hurst, who also preceded him in death.
He had lived in the valley for 76 years. He worked as a post office clerk in Medford and Central Point for 39 years.
In 1965, he co-founded the Siskiyou Rare Plant Nursery. For three years, he was the national seed director for American Rock Garden. He was a founding member of the Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Club. His large collection of rocks was donated to the Crater Rock Museum. He was active with Troop 4 of the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was also interested in rare plants.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Crocker, Medford; a stepdaughter, Jean Mcfarland; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Crocker, who died in Vietnam.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Conger-Morris Chapel.
