Memorial services for Betty Lee Watkins will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Medford, with the Rev. Don Hildebrand of Rogue Valley Manor officiating. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Watkins, 77, of Medford, died Friday (June 28, 2002) at her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Hospice or the Dubs Cancer Center, both at 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Betty Lee Seitter on Jan. 24, 1925, in Wilmington, N.C. On Dec. 2, 1945, in Wilmington, she married John D. Watkins, who died in 1979.
She had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1950, moving here from Southgate, Calif.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since October 1958, serving as "sunshine chairwoman" for the past several years. She worked as a clerk at US Bank in Medford and also at Above and Beyond clothing store in the Bear Creek Plaza for several years.
She enjoyed reading, butterflies and caregiving.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Michael D., Newcastle, Calif., and J. Scott, Sidney, Mont.; a daughter, Alice L. Stroutsos, Seattle; a sister, Kathy Swango, Loveland, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her companion, Dick Wray.
