The funeral for Dr. Aubrey Morris "Bunker" Hill will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, Ashland. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Dr. Hill, 80, of Ashland, died Thursday (July 4, 2002) at Ashland Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Erie, N.D., to Esther and Erle Hill. He was a graduate of North Dakota State University, Idaho State University and Oregon Health & Science University. He received both a pharmacy and a medical degree. On March 25, 1984, in Hawaii, he married Esther Williams, who survives.
Dr. Hill practiced medicine in Ashland for 49 years, retiring in 2000.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the Naval Reserve.
Dr. Hill was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Ashland Rotary Club and was a drummer in the Ashland Kilty Band.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jason Harrington, Ashland; a daughter, Samantha L. Wikander, Ashland; a stepson, Eric Halvorson, Portland; two stepdaughters, Heather Halvorson, Baltimore, Mass., and Sonia Halvorson, Stanford, Calif.; a sister, Erlys Niemi, San Mateo, Calif.; and a granddaughter.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
