Harvey T. Cline, 78, of Medford, died Sunday (June 30, 2002) at his home. The memorial service was held Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. He was born April 28, 1924, in Bessemer, Ala., to Albert and Martha Cline. He moved to the Rogue Valley 40 years ago. In 1984, in Montgomery, Ala., he married Martha J. Conley, who survives.
Mr. Cline was a career Army man. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In Medford, he was an Army recruiter, working out of the old Medford Post Office. He retired in 1965. He also operated a private detective agency in Roseburg.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Baptist church. He ran locally as a congressional candidate in 1985.
Mr. Cline enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with his friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Jason T., Medford; a daughter, Trudy Boyette, Norcross, Ga.; six stepchildren; a sister, Violette Garner, Bessemer, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren.
