A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, in Valley View Cemetery in Vale for Ernest Leslie Klein, who died July 1 at age 84.

Mr. Klein was born Oct. 18, 1917, in Stafford, Okla. He moved to Vale in 1936, then lived in Gresham before moving in 1951 to Portland, where he worked in road construction in summers and drove a home heating oil truck in winters. In 1968, he moved to Cascade, Idaho, where he was a ranch hand. He married Elva Wadleigh in 1940; they divorced.

Survivors include his daughters, Myreen Salzer and Ernestine Waddell; son, Norvyn; sisters, Martha Romans, Dorothy Klein, Jemima Davis and Mabel Amos; brother, Lewis; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
