Neely family of Josephine County

In addition to the message of November 4, James Neely was a boy when his family moved from Missouri to Josephne Co. At age 17 James Neely accompanied his Dad and participated in the battles with the Rogue River Indians. I have a copy of Josephus History of the Jews which is signed in beautiful script "James Neely Sr." I do not know if this was my great grandfather or if it belonged to his father. Any information on the Neely family would be most appreciated.
