A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2002, in the Aloha Second Ward of the Beaverton West Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Lawrence Jay Hardin, who died July 1 at age 60.

Mr. Hardin was born Dec. 21, 1941, in Portland. He graduated from Milwaukie High School and Brigham Young University. He taught and coached at Jefferson and Roosevelt high schools and then was director of marketing for the sports surfacing division of Intracor Familian for the past 17 years. In 1968, he married Susan Smurthwaite.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Brian, Jason and Joshua; daughter, Melissa Bradley; brother, Bill; three grandchildren.
