Archie J. Powers Jr., 83, of Grants Pass, died Oct. 10, 2002, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. Family services were held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1918, in Grants Pass.
Mr. Powers served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.
He worked as a mail carrier for the Grants Pass Post Office for 32 years until his retirement in 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Leah Powers, Grants Pass; a son, Todd, Grants Pass; three daughters, Lynda Reed and Lesliee Van Blericom, both Grants Pass, and Iva LaRosa, of Rathdrum, Idaho; a sister, Darlene Powers, and two brothers, Delmer and Carol Powers, all Grants Pass; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Peterson.
